Marathon man Pat is set to run again

AT 60 years of age, Pat Car­roll is show­ing no signs of slow­ing down just yet.

He has just an­nounced that he plans to run the 15 miles from his home in Knock­ananna to Carnew on Friday, Oc­to­ber 20 next, leav­ing at 10 a.m.

He de­cided to take on the chal­lenge to raise funds for Carnew Com­mu­nity Care, and he is cur­rently call­ing door-to-door to col­lect spon­sor­ship.

Judg­ing by his past record, he should take the 15 miles in his stride. ‘I’ve done 36 marathons in the past 26 years,’ he said. ‘I ran a marathon for Carnew Com­mu­nity Care be­fore.’

As he will be run­ning on nar­row coun­try roads, he will be ac­com­pa­nied by a back up car. He said that all do­na­tions will be grate­fully re­ceived.
