AVONDALE

Our most recent lotto draw took place in Jacob’s Well on March 6. Numbers drawn were 1, 5, 9, and 12.

There was no jackpot winner, however we had five match three winners each winning €40.

Congratulations Mary Kennedy, Ann Marie Gahan, Bronwyn Walsh, Clare Doyle and PJ Rowley.

Next draw is in the Corner House on the 13th. Jackpot up to €2,100.

Get your tickets from most local businesses. Good luck and thanks for your continued support.

Avondale GAA Club are entering a float into the St Patrick’s Day parade. The theme has been decided by the students of Rathdrum B.N.S.

Anybody who has banners, bunting or flags they would like to lend to us can do so next Thursday night.

We are putting the float together then and anyone that can help out please contact Liam on 087 6787123 for information.

We need as much help as possible on this night.

Well done to all who entered an idea for the float. The winners will be announced AFTER the parade so as not to give away the winning idea!

We are looking for as many players as possible to participate in the parade. As the winning idea came from the boys school, it would be great to have the boys represent themselves!

Looking forward to seeing all the kids on the day. Please dress them to the usual high standards in which we have seen them over the last few years.

There will be no academy this Saturday due to the participation in the St Patrick’s Day parade.

Looking forward to seeing all our usual players on the day!

We have a bagpack coming up on March 23 and 24. We’re asking for parents and coaches to volunteer to take part. This is a very important fundraiser with which, the funds are used to buy much needed equipment etc for our young players. Lots of slots available. Please contact Liam Kelly on the above number.

Wednesday, March 21, is the next juvenile registration night. This is taking place from 7.30 to 8.30. This is a very important night as, if children are not registered, they cannot play!

Our hurlers were away in Kildare to play Rosglass on Saturday in the Leinster league. They came away with a fairly convincing win of 4-17 to 1-09.

It was a good first workout. Room for improvement with more training, but good to get a win first day out.

Great to see some youth players coming through for the first time in years.

Great performances from Jack Manley, Eanna and Dan Owens and Conor Sheehan.

Our Senior footballers play in the league against Tinahely on Friday 16th at 8pm in the complex.

And Bank Holiday Monday, our hurlers will play St Kevin’s in the Leinster hurling league. 2pm in the complex.

As these are home games, we would like to see as much support as possible.
