Transition Year students enjoyed a great day in Causey Farm last Thursday. Upon arrival, they learned the valuable skill of how to bake bread. After the Bake off, they headed to the bog where they braved the freezing temperatures as they enjoyed a spot of bog hopping. They also got a chance to show their moves while doing the Siege of Ennis. They finished the day with trip through a haunted house where a few characters crept out of the shadows to give them a good scare. The staff in Causey Farm were very complimentary about the students’ attitudes and behavior.

FIRST YEAR SOCCER

The First year soccer team beat Wexford CBS 5-1 in the semi-final of the Wicklow Wexford league. The team attacked from kick off and were awarded with an early goal courtesy of an Ethan Snell header. CCM pushed on and scored a second within minutes with Jospeh Neilan hitting an unstoppable strike into the top right corner. CCM dominated possession in the first half and the centre half pairing of David Butler and Mikey Merrigan were composed any time they were tested. Before half time we made it 3-0 thanks to a well taken Toby Lee Curran goal.

The second half started in similar fashion with Toby Lee Curran scoring a penalty after Adam Byrne was fouled in the box. CCM made it 5-0 shortly after with Scott Devlin getting a deserved goal after a hard working performance. Wexford CBS scored a well taken goal, however, Conor Luddy was calm under any pressure for the remainder of the game.

The whole team performed well with Aaron Murray, Joe Neilan, David Butler, Mikey Merrigan and Toby Lee Curran having excellent performances.
