Helicopter monitors car chase
A GARDA helicopter was deployed last week to try and keep track of a car that gardaí say was driving dangerously between Arklow and Brittas Bay.
The dramatic scenes began just after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3. Garda received a report of a car crash in Arklow and made their way to the scene but the vehicle appeared to drive off.
Gardaí tried to stop the vehicle without success.
According to gardaí, a highspeed chase ensued and continued for a considerable time, ending at a farmyard in Brittas Bay.
A male suspect was arrested by gardaí a short time later and brought to Wicklow Garda Station for questioning.
A female passenger, a juvenile, wasn’t arrested and was returned to her family.
