CBAI. (Con­tract Bridge As­so­ci­a­tion of Ire­land). This event is es­pe­cially des­ig­nated for novice play­ers and those graded as in­ter­me­di­ate B play­ers of any club of the Eastern Re­gion. Many play­ers will as­sem­ble at 7.15 p.m. and there will be a great wel­come on the mat in the Do­mini­can Ecol­ogy Cen­tre in Wick­low Town, by kind per­mis­sion of the Do­mini­can Sis­ters. Re­fresh­ments will be served and there will be win­ners prizes for the dif­fer­ent sec­tions. The Tour­na­ment di­rec­tor will be Ber­nadette Rown­tree for the evening.

The Grand Slam Bridge Club will hope to play rub­ber bridge games for those mem­bers who are not el­i­gi­ble as novices or B grade play­ers. Rub­ber bridge be­ing the orig­i­nal of the species and has some in­ter­est­ing chal­leng­ing dif­fer­ences to the nor­mal du­pli­cate game that most peo­ple play to­day. All will be re­vealed next Wed­nes­day. There will be no novice lessons next week. Look­ing for­ward to a very dif­fer­ent evening’s bridge game.
