Off to a flying start!

A wonderful day of running took place in aid of Crumlin Children’s Hospital on Saturday for the inaugural Jack White’s 5k/10k run, walk and family day.

Over 300 people registered for the event and many more attended to cheer them on and enjoy entertainm­ent such as face painting, bouncy castle, pupper show, music and kids’ dash.

Organiser Wayne O’Driscoll has extended his thanks to everyone who helped in any way, big or small, including sponsors Altura Credit Union and Andrew O’Callaghan Tattoos.

The 10k male and female winners were Tony Steele and Susanne Keane, respective­ly while Garry Timmons took first in the male 5k and Claire O’Callaghan took first for the ladies. The next fundraisin­g event takes place on Sunday, May 6 in Tinahely in aid of the Stillborn and Neonatal Death Associatio­n of Ireland.
