Off to a fly­ing start!

A won­der­ful day of run­ning took place in aid of Crum­lin Chil­dren’s Hospi­tal on Satur­day for the in­au­gu­ral Jack White’s 5k/10k run, walk and fam­ily day.

Over 300 peo­ple reg­is­tered for the event and many more at­tended to cheer them on and en­joy en­ter­tain­ment such as face paint­ing, bouncy cas­tle, pup­per show, mu­sic and kids’ dash.

Or­gan­iser Wayne O’Driscoll has ex­tended his thanks to ev­ery­one who helped in any way, big or small, in­clud­ing spon­sors Al­tura Credit Union and An­drew O’Cal­laghan Tat­toos.

The 10k male and fe­male win­ners were Tony Steele and Su­sanne Keane, re­spec­tively while Garry Tim­mons took first in the male 5k and Claire O’Cal­laghan took first for the ladies. The next fundrais­ing event takes place on Sun­day, May 6 in Ti­na­hely in aid of the Still­born and Neona­tal Death As­so­ci­a­tion of Ire­land.
