Eighty business owners flock to network event

EIGHTY local business owners learned how to increasing revenue through networking at a event hosted by West Wicklow Business Network in Russboroug­h House .

West Wicklow business owners arrived in their droves to Russboroug­h last week. There was a huge response to this open invite from the West Wicklow Business Network and eighty attendee’s enjoyed finger food and champagne on arrival.

Due to the phenomenal numbers in attendance, the group had to be split in two tours of the house which has recently undergone a €1 million refurbishm­ent. The night was a clear display of businesses, with competitor­s coming together to support one another in growing business in west Wicklow and surroundin­g areas through networking.

Eric Blatchford and Joan Griffith from Russboroug­h House hosted the event so graciously on the evening and gave engaging tours of the impressive ground floor rooms. It felt like stepping back in time, sipping champagne in the impressive reception rooms.

Eric also spoke about the recent renovation­s and how open he was to speaking with local businesses people about utilising the house.

The key note speaker, Simon Finn from BNI, an award winning networking trainer, received a phenomenal response.

His high energy, engaging presentati­on asked though provoking questions about ‘making your Net-Work’ by providing attendees with a networking toolkit.

Simon’s methods are proven, and he has increased revenues by €15 million with businesses he has worked with over he last year through networking.

Local business owner Orlagh Deegan who has already increased sales through contacts in the network and was a key player in organising this event.

Orlagh from Choice Training and Consultanc­y said: ‘I was blown away by the attendance, positivity of everyone and post event feedback. I’m already thinking about idea’s for another networking event, watch this space.’

This event was very well attended but also received the support of local businesses. Spot prizes were donated by Tulfarris Hotel, Germaines of Baltinglas­s and Avon Ri. Brambles Catering, who run the café onsite, sponsored the finger food and refreshmen­ts. Kennys Supervalu sponsored the champagne and Punctual Print sponsored the printing.

Closing the event Ronan Flood, Chairman of the West Wicklow Business Network said ‘I would encourage all members to rediscover Russboroug­h by taking a tour, we are so privileged to have this wonderful heritage on our doorstep’.

He also extended an invite to all attendees to the next network meeting at 7.30 a.m. on April 17 in the Coimin Centre in Blessingto­n.
