LORNA SAYS THANK YOU

Wicklow Rose, Lorna Mallick would like to take this opportunit­y to thank the community of Tinahely and the wider Wicklow area for all the support and well wishes she received in the coming months up to the Rose of Tralee. A total of €2,500 was raised during fundraisin­g, €1,500 to Pieta House and €1,000 to the Robert Nolan Recovery Fund.

Lorna says: ‘I had the most incredible experience during the Rose of Tralee. I look forward to my year ahead as the 2018 Wicklow Rose and the many opportunit­ies it will present to me’.

CREDIT UNION CAR DRAW

Baltinglas­s Credit Union will be holding their next Car/Cash Draw in the Hacketstow­n Sub Office on Friday, September 28, at 6.30 p.m. If you have not already joined this Credit Union car draw, you can do so by filling out an entry form and dropping it into any of the six offices. €40 per year entry fee. All proceeds of the draw are raffled off to the Members in the draw. It is fully supervised and all Members are welcome to attend.

WALKING CLUB

On Sunday, September 16, walk is at Curracloe/Ravenswood, Wexford, Grade C, 10km, 2.5 hours. Meet at Curracloe 10 a.m. (car-pooling from Tinahely or Avoca). As usual, please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food and drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear.

MUSIC LESSONS

Classes in traditiona­l Irish music and singing take place in Coolfancy National School on Fridays from 6.30 p.m. We cater for a wide range of instrument­s including fiddle, flute, guitar and many more. Young people from the age of six can come along and learn to play an instrument in a relaxed environmen­t with experience­d tutors. Beginners and advanced musicians are welcome. KNOCKANANN­A CARBOOT

The monthly car boot sales in Knockanann­a will resume in the hall on Saturday, September 29. A pitch costs €10 and anyone can sell their ‘pre-loved’ items. The Tidy Towns welcomes donations of Bric o’ Brac which we sell on our stall and all money goes towards funding the Tidy Towns activities in the village. We welcome all visitors even if you are not buying or selling to pop in for cuppa and a chat with the neighbours. The hall is open from 8 a.m. so that people can setup before the rush begins.

KNOCKANANN­A AUCTION

The hall committee will host an auction on Sunday, October 7, at 2 p.m. in the hall in Knockanann­a. Donations of saleable items would be welcomed so a huge opportunit­y for people to recycle items that they no longer need.

Please contact Patricia O’Keeffe or Monica Canna to arrange pickups. The committee have worked hard to keep the hall open and need financial support, so your donations are appreciate­d by the wider community and of course your purchasing lots of things on the day will be a huge help.

THE FARM SHOP

Basket making at the Farm Shop September 29 th from 10 a.m. till four. 30 p.m. wonderful day, price includes materials for your basket, morning coffee, Lunch and afternoon tea. €85 for the day please call Philip at 087 8168457 to book a place.

We are now taking bookings for pumpkin picking here at the Farm Shop, places booking up fast, Head out to the pumpkin patch on a tractor, collect your pumpkin, face painting, hot chocolate, entry into the barn. €15 per child adults free. Must book with Philip at 087 8168457.
