Plans to be lodged for new Arklow Primary Care Centre
A PLANNING application for the long-awaited new Arklow Primary Care Centre is expected to be lodged as early as next week.
Over two years since the project was confirmed as going ahead, local councillors say that they are confident that this time, matters are moving well.
According to Cllr Sylvester Bourke, the developer is expected to meet with local elected members and Wicklow County Council officials today, Wednesday to discuss final details ahead of the application being filed.
‘This application is imminent and once the developers meet with us to discuss a few final details, I expect it to be lodged within a matter of weeks,’ he said.
The project, which is to be developed at the former P. Boland site, which links Main Street and Castlepark, is to see a new state of the art Primary Care Centre replace the current centre in Castlepark.
Last December, the public was assured that despite the delays, the developer and local representatives were committed to delivering the centre.
