CBS show­cases school at an­nual open day

ARK­LOW CBS was a hive of ac­tiv­ity on Thurs­day as prospec­tive stu­dents and their fam­i­lies at­tended the an­nual school open evening in large num­bers.

Guests got to ex­pe­ri­ence all of what Ark­low CBS has to of­fer, as ev­ery class­room in the school had sam­ples of stu­dents work on dis­play as well as many in­ter­ac­tive ex­hibits.

The Com­puter room had games run­ning while in the Wood­work room, prospec­tive stu­dents were able to make their very own Pac Man keyring us­ing a va­ri­ety of hand tools Fit­ness lev­els were tested in the Sports Hall and in the Sci­ence Lab­o­ra­to­ries the vis­it­ing Sixth Class pupils got into the Hal­lowe’en spirit by cut­ting up hearts, lungs, kid­neys and eye­balls. Stu­dents got to elec­tric shock them­selves and their friends and to lit­er­ally make their hair stand on end with the Van de Graaff gen­er­a­tor which can gen­er­ate up to 10,000 volts of elec­tric­ity! En­rol­ments were taken on the night and places will be con­firmed in the com­ing weeks.
