ARK­LOW ROCKS and Kil­coole make the trip to Wick­low town on Sun­day morn­ing last for the semi-fi­nal of the In­ter­me­di­ate hurl­ing cham­pi­onship with the prize at stake a county fi­nal date against cham­pi­onship favourites Avon­dale.

Af­ter a keenly con­tested game that was played in real cham­pi­onship fever it was the Ark­low side who emerged vic­to­ri­ous by a slen­der mar­gin of one point but only af­ter they held off a strong Kil­coole sec­ond-half rally.

With the strong breeze blow­ing into in town goal in the open­ing half which as­sisted the Goose­bank men, they launched the first at­tack with Luke Evans open­ing the scor­ing with a point af­ter three min­utes.
