Wild, weird walk at the reservoir
DEMONS, goblins and witches of all shapes and sizes ensured anyone walking the Vartry Reservoir was in for a terrifying experience they weren’t likely to forget anytime soon.
The candlelight walk took place on Sunday, October 28, with all the proceeds raised shared between Roundwood District Community Council and Roundwood AFC.
At least a couple of hundred people took part, packing out the car park in the process. Registration took place at Roundwood AFC grounds and then each family set off along the trail, which looked spectacular lined by candles.
With it being so close to Hallowe’en some of the younger participants decided to dress up for the occasion, adding a litte more fun to the evening.
This is the second time the walk has been organised by Roundwood AFC. The inaugural event last year proved so successful it was decided it would be a shame not to do it all again.
The Vartry Reservoir loop walks provide 20km of beautiful walks to the community of Roundwood and to visitors to the area.
The Doyles and the O’Shaughnessys head off on the candlelit walk organised by Roundwood AFC by the reservoir.
