CELTIC STARS FC

Celtic Stars beat St Anne’s 6-2 on Sunday to remain two points behind Slaney Rovers at the top of Division 1 with six games to go. Brendan Behan was the star of the show with three goals and Jason Cush, Thomas Power and an OG making up the rest of the scoring. We are all looking forward to the rest of the season.

Tinahely ICA held their guild meeting 21/1/19. Helen McDonnell Presided over the meeting for Kathleen Byrne, president, as she is still recovering and we wish her a speedy recovery. Secretary Breda Murphy read correspondence from head office and we arranged our meetings for the next three months.

We are having Jim Callery from the Department of Environment Wicklow County Council at our next meeting on February 18. On recycling and our completion for that night is a garden on a plate. Madge Kenny and Eileen Doran gave a report on the Drama festival in Glenealy, which was a great success. Congratulations to the ICA ladies who worked hard at putting on a great festival.

Our evening closed with Mary O’Connor winning our competition and a lovely supper supplied by Breda Murphy and Helen McDonnell.
