Proposal invalid

-

A planning application to retain three signs in Arklow has been ruled as invalid by the local authority.

Jones Oil Depot had applied to Wicklow County Council for permission to retain one free standing totem sign and two low level wall mounted signs in Knockanrahan Lower, Arklow last month. However, the application was ruled invalid by the planning section on May 29 as it did not comply with the requirements of the Planning and Development Regulations.

The local authority outlined three reasons in a letter to the applicant dated June 6 why the application had been invalidated. It noted that while a site notice had been erected, contact details for the agent had not been stated on this. The planning section also highlighted that the appropriate planning fee had not been paid.

Third, the proposed signs were outside the boundary lines as drawn on plans submitted with the application, however, the regulations require any proposed works to take place within the boundary.
