If anyone would like to exchange books or take books the book shelf is just inside the main door at hall. Great selection of books to choose from. Times are as follows for exchange or collection of books at the moment is 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.

MEALS ON WHEELS

Meals on Wheels continue to deliver meals on Wednesdays in the area. If anyone would like a hot dinner delivered to their home please telephone 087 9693960.

ST NICHOLAS OF MYRA

All Masses (including morning Masses) are now suspended and the Parish Centre also remains closed but if you would like to get in contact please call 045 401871 as messages will be checked regularly. Please share and let family and friends know. Thank you.

PANIC BUTTONS

Anyone, who is over the age of 65 may apply for a Panic Button. If you are interested, or know of someone who may require one, the necessary applicatio­n form can be accessed by calling 086 1020303.

ENROLMENTS

Due to the current Covid-19 restrictio­ns on assemblies of this nature, it was felt that the safest method to obtain the views of residents was via an online survey, which collected responses over the period of a week in early June.

The Resident’s Associatio­n are considerin­g what action it’s appropriat­e to take in light of these responses. The full planning applicatio­n can be viewed on Wicklow County Council’s website referencin­g Planning Applicatio­n number 20298.

KEEP THE VILLAGE TIDY

The Market Square developmen­t had been at a standstill for a long time but is now bustling with activity. Phase one includes the demolition of the existing buildings to prepare the site for foundation­s to begin building a Primary Health Care Centre and library.

PARNELL ATHLETIC CLUB

Training has resumed for senior members of the club on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Avondale. New members are always welcome. Training for juveniles has not yet returned and will be notified in due course.

BINGO UPDATE

local theatre maker Cliona O’Connell, and Aughrim based actress Andrea Kelly would love to talk to people in the area who have local knowledge or stories about the playwright JM Synge, the Synge family and their connection to the Roundwood area. If you have any stories we would love to hear from you.

Any informatio­n you have, no matter how small, is very welcome. We are currently working on the developmen­t of a new theatre project sited in the county, re-imagining Synge’s life, work and connection to Wicklow.

This project is funded under the Wicklow Artist Award Scheme 2020.

GOLF SOCIETY

Our president’s day golf outing to Woodenbrid­ge GC, has changed from Sunday, July 5, to Sunday, July 12, tee times remain the same 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Your captain Willie Kenna.

LOCAL LINK BUS

Important notice to all local link passengers using the LL183 Glendaloug­h to Wicklow service that from today till July 3 at least we are running a bigger bus due to demand. Social distancing remains in place on public transport. If passengers can look out for the J J Kavanagh bus rather than the usual bus.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Church services at Calary will resume on Sunday, July 5, at 9.30 a.m.

Members of the parish have been working hard to put in place stringent protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of all who attend.

Anyone coming to a service is asked to arrive early to ensure that all the necessary guidelines are followed.

MEDJUGORJE

A pilgrimage to Medjugorje will take place on October 7 for seven days at a cost of €679 fully inclusive. €200 deposit secures booking.

This trip will be accompanie­d by a Spiritual Director. The accommodat­ion is close to the church. For more informatio­n and booking Contact Mary King at 087 2185067.
