Former US president Barack Obama is set to address a synagogue in Manhattan this January.

The former president is scheduled to appear at The Temple Emanu-El Streicker Center on the Upper East Side on January 24. The synagogue did not announce the topic of the address.

Tickets to the event – which are $225 – were made available to the public on Wednesday, and sold out within hours. The synagogue is allowing those still interested to join the waitlist for the event.

Other political figures slated to appear at the synagogue in the coming months include Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Pierce Bush, daughters of former president George W. Bush, former first lady Michelle Obama, former secretary of state Hillary Clinton and former vice president Dick Cheney.

Obama has given few public address since he left office in January, and even fewer in the United States. A speech in Toronto at the end of the month is expected to draw thousands.

Michelle Obama spoke at the Beth El Synagogue in St. Louis Park, Minnesota on Sunday.

The former president last addressed a synagogue in May 2015, when he marked Jewish Heritage Month at Adas Israel in Washington.
