US Attorney-General Jeff Sessions testifies before a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington yesterday. He told committee members that he now recalled attending a meeting in March 2016 at which George Papadopoulos, a former adviser to President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, and who pleaded guilty last month to lying to the FBI, told participants he could use his Russian connections to broker a meeting between then-candidate Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Sessions previously testified to Congress that he was unaware of any communications between the campaign and Russian officials.
