Ga’ash golfers stay busy even in win­ter months

The Ga’ash Golf Club held an open-house tour­na­ment last week, in which lo­cal mem­bers were re­quested to in­vite non-mem­bers to play.

The for­mat of the event was a bet­ter-ball Stable­ford, with some of the pair­ings also made up of only lo­cal mem­bers.

Gary Van­der­molen and Doron Ko­liner took first place fol­lowed by Brian Galgut and Dave Haskell. Near­est-to-the-pin prizes went to Ye­huda Levy and Galgut. The 52 par­tic­i­pants en­joyed the awards cer­e­mony and bar­be­cue held at the Agala cof­fee shop on the Ga’ash grounds.

In other ac­tion, af­ter heavy rains, the course was in very good con­di­tion for the Ga’ash Jan­uary Monthly Medal.

Michael Co­hen played the best golf of the day with a gross score of 74, which in­cluded an iden­ti­cal front-nine and back-nine of two-over-par 37. On the front-nine, Michael had a birdie, five pars and three bo­geys. He then started the back-nine with a pair of bo­geys, be­fore com­plet­ing his round with seven pars in a row.

Zal­man Sha­haff took top hon­ors in the A Di­vi­sion, fol­lowed by Moshe Nes­sis. The B Di­vi­sion was won by Adele Katz, with Uri Blum the run­ner-up.

The Su­per Se­niors event was won by Mike Os­sip, fol­lowed by Abra­ham Lavi, while the near­est-to-the-pin prize went to Galgut.
