NEL CUORE DI VALENCIA brulicante di architetture gotiche, moresche e barocche si trova un piccolo appartamento all’interno di un palazzo di inizio Novecento, oggi ristrutturato da Roberto Di Donato, giovane italiano con base a Londra. La casa sembra fare eco al contesto urbano: vivace e briosa propone un confronto serrato fra tracce della memoria e voci della contemporaneità. Questo dinamismo di atmosfere la rende aperta e accogliente, nel senso che si apre alla convivenza di linguaggi differenti e che accoglie segni, colori e materiali di natura diversa. Nell’appartamento lo spazio si genera e si definisce attraverso elementi di arredo che non ostacolano la vista e permettono di cogliere l’ambiente con un solo colpo d’occhio. La distribuzione degli spazi, che si articolano su una superficie a sviluppo longitudinale e sono illuminati in profondità da tre finestre poste lungo la facciata principale, è infatti fluida, prende le mosse dalla cucina per inoltrarsi verso il soggiorno e, a seguire, in direzione della zona notte.
IN THE HEART OF VALENCIA, which is teeming with Gothic, Moorish and baroque works of architecture, a small flat located inside a building dating from the early 20th century has been renovated by Roberto Di Donato, a young Italian based in London. The house seems to echo its urban context. It is both vivacious and spirited, and bears close comparison between traces of the past and voices from contemporary life. This dynamism of atmospheres renders it both open and welcoming, in the sense that it allows for the coexistence of a variety of languages and accepts different symbols, colours and materials. In the flat the space is generated and defined by elements of furnishing that do not block the view and that make it possible to take in the setting in with just a glance. The arrangement of the spaces, which are distributed over an area that is longer than it is wide and are illuminated in depth by three windows set in the main façade, is fluid.
