Yachts Made in Italy. Among design and ecology

-

It is always a pleasure to visit a port and see a luxury boat built in Italy. It means that a fortunate ship owner believed in the brand, and not only for its quality and elegance, and its construction provided much needed work to many. This is the reward for a legacy that has been handed down from generation to generation and makes the Italian industry admired the world over. Even if less famous than Ferrari, Lamborghini, Ducati, Colnago or Moto Guzzi, the fibreglass and aluminium gems that cross the seas are means of transport, symbols of history and unique, inimitable traditions. It’s true that they have lived off the reputation of the Belle Époque of yachting from the sixties when Riva yachts were to Brigitte Bardot as the Mv Agusta was to Giacomo Agostini. But Riva is still building boats and produces not only legendary day cruisers, but also other types of more contemporary masterpieces. Like the “76’ Bahamas“, a yacht with a cockpit hardtop that converts from an open to a coupé and vice versa: an important aspect even for long journeys. This wonderful boat of just less than 24 metres does not require a professional crew and the owner, if able, can be almost entirely independent on family trips. Remaining with the group founded by the former speedboat racing champion, the “850“from Ferretti Yachts is a new flybridge yacht designed by Studio Zuccon, which could be registered as a pleasure boat but boasts many of the features of a superyacht, with first-class, very spacious outdoor areas that are further enhanced by an unexpected swim platform created from the door of the garage. This true ‘beach area’ can descend to below the level of the water and for this reason even facilitates movement of the tender. Another winning yacht is the “Navetta 37“from Custom Line, the flagship of the semi-displacement range from one the most customised brands of the Adriatic: clean lines, a control room that is the stuff of science
