Pomellato opens its second Milan boutique in Via Monte Napoleone. It’s a showcase for an international clientèle, a sophisticated and intimate treasure chest designed by Dimore Studio An elegant signature crowns the shop window of the narrowest palazzo in Via Monte Napoleone. The art of display communicates with the passers- by in a free and unexpected language. The precious sparkles are not the exclusive domain of the divine diamond but play across a variety of gems. “For this new boutique, in its strategic position, we started with a return to our origins, and then went in a direction of unprecedented creativity”, explains Vincenzo Castaldo, Creative Director for the brand. Inside the seductive, muted luxury of a treasure chest full of surprising wonders transmits a sense of well- being. Panels of opalescent glass, coloured and backlit, cover the walls interrupted only by the bronze racks. “We imagined the mood of the Sixties to help define a colour palette that reworks the oriental lacquers with indefinable nuances”, states Britt Moran of Dimore Studio. The 3D ceilings are an Art Déco triumph in a reloaded version. Running between the lacquered panels and the dark wood of the ceiling a tunnel passage leads into the second area, where the ceremony of jewel selection takes place in private amid small amethyst- velvet sofas, informal poufs and specially designed showcases with fan- opening drawers. The soft light emanates from the white and pink glass spheres, hung from arms of the wall lights. Pomellato, Via Monte Napoleone 17, Milan, tel. 02.76014530, www. pomellato. com
