A Re­nais­san­ce sty­le buil­ding in Shanghai is gi­ven new life wi­th the An­to­nio Cit­te­rio Pa­tri­cia Viel pro­ject for Bul­ga­ri A neo­clas­sic Re­nais­san­ce sty­le buil­ding from 1916 is re­sto­red to its for­mer splen­dour in the heart of Shanghai. The buil­ding in que­stion is the Cham­ber of Com­mer­ce, an exam­ple of ar­chi­tec­tu­re from the gol­den age of the ‘ Pearl of the Orient’, re­cu­pe­ra­ted and tran­sfor­med, li­ke all the Bul­ga­ri Ho­tels & Re­sorts, by the An­to­nio Cit­te­rio Pa­tri­cia Viel stu­dio, as part of the pro­ject for the ad­ja­cent new Bul­ga­ri Ho­tel Shanghai. “The Cham­ber of Com­mer­ce pro­ject is mind- blo­wing. It was built for a city that sin­ce the la­te ni­ne­teen­th cen­tu­ry had been the hea­d­quar­ters for in­ter­na­tio­nal ma­ri­ti­me tra­de per­mi­ts, and the­re­fo­re a re­si­den­ce for ex­pa­ts. It the­re­fo­re has ma­ny we­stern sty­le ar­chi­tec­tu­res,” ex­plains Pa­tri­cia Viel. To­day, the buil­ding hou­ses the Bul­ga­ri Ball­room ( 500 m2 wi­th a ca­pa­ci­ty
