In 1965, when Karl Lagerfeld partnered with Italian brand Fendi, they came up with the slogan ‘fun fur’, a definition that was destined to make history. Possibly not a concept that would appeal to animal-rights activists but a perfect synthesis marking a style revolution that said farewell to stuffy, old-time furs and hello to soft, whimsical garments, either natural or coloured, alone or in combination with other materials.

ON THE CATWALKS

Fur is now making a comeback as the hottest thing in fashion: outerwear or accessories, coats or jackets, either long or short, and vests in fox and sable, astrakhan and mink have taken the catwalks of countless designer labels by storm.
