Co­lum­bus Ya­ch­ts’ new pro­ject - 52 me­tre- To­ma­ha­wk de­ve­lo­ped wi­th Mar­co Ca­sa­li is a lo­ve­ly loo­king Ex­plo­rer mo­del fea­tu­ring a uni­que design con­tai­ning tech­no­lo­gy and technical so­lu­tions de­ri­ved from Grup­po Pa­lum­bo’s na­val ex­pe­rien­ce. To­ma­ha­wk is the na­me gi­ven to a new li­ne of cu­stom built Ex­plo­rer mo­dels ran­ging from 40 to 100 me­tres, from whi­ch this fir­st 52 me­tre exam­ple wi­th a Gross ton­na­ge of 499 GT.THE na­me at­tri­bu­ted to the li­ne co­mes from the yacht’s spe­cial bow sha­pe whi­ch re­calls the sha­pe of the mu­ch ce­le­bra­ted wea­pon wiel­ded by na­ti­ve Ame­ri­cans. Mar­co Ca­sa­li in­ter­pre­ted the gi­ven bla­de sha­pe fai­th­ful­ly to be­st suit its pur­po­se – to pier­ce th­rou­gh head seas. The re­st of the hull al­so in steel and thanks to Grup­po Pa­lum­bo’s no­ta­ble ex­pe­rien­ce in buil­ding mi­li­ta­ry craft and ships of the kind it is ca­pa­ble of ta­king on ex­tre­me wea­ther con­di­tions. “ba­si­cal­ly To­ma­ha­wk has been con­cei­ved to be a ve­ry com­for­ta- ble yacht in­si­de of a great ship” is how de­si­gner Mar­co Ca­sa­li put it. “The 75 squa­re me­tre ow­ner ca­bin is si­tua­ted in the bow sec­tion wi­th for­ward fa­cing win­dow li­ke ports fa­cing a 21 squa­re me­tre ter­ra­ce equip­ped wi­th a ta­ble, sun pads and a hy­dro-mas­sa­ge tub. The who­le area of­fers a 180° pa­no­ra­mic view and to­tal pri­va­cy.

The area re­ser­ved to guests is si­tua­ted along the lo­wer deck con­nec­ting to the gym, well­ness area and bea­ch club wi­th gla­zed pa­nel­ling. Guests and ow­ner can ac­cess the bea­ch area di­rec­tly, the pool and sea wi­thout ha­ving to walk th­rou­gh the sa­loon and li­ving room areas. A wet bar and ex­clu­si­ve di­ning area si­tua­ted in the bow sec­tion com­pri­ses a mo­vie thea­tre/ka­rao­ke. The crew’s quar­ters too are lar­ger than cu­stom, whi­le pri­vi­le­ging qua­li­ty of spa­ce as well”. As for the decor of the in­te­riors Mar­co Ca­sa­li ad­mi­ts he was at­trac­ted by the won­der world de­scrip­tions men­tio­ned in Ju­les Ver­ne’s ad­ven­tu­re ta­les. Con­cei­ved to bra­ve the se­ven seas. This 52 me­tre ver­sion of To­ma­ha­wk con­si­de­ring the num­ber of decks, han­gars and clo­sed sto­re kee­ping cel­lars it pos­ses­ses, the­re’s al­so plen­ty of spa­ce in whi­ch to stow any kind of wa­ter toy, ten­ders, two 12 me­tre ones, 4 jet skis, and a sub­ma­ri­ne. Mo­reo­ver bet­ween the ga­ra­ge be­low and the bow sec­tion the­re’s ad­di­tio­nal room for other wa­ter craft and gear. The bea­ch club spreads over th­ree decks for a to­tal of 200 squa­re me­tres, in ad­di­tion to a 6x2.50 me­tre pool and a per­so­na­li­sed sun ba­thing area wi­th free stan­ding fur­ni­tu­re, the­re is still spa­ce
