Foiler is a revolutionary boat built by Enata in the United Arab Emirates. Presented in the course of the latest Dubai International Boat Show which was held from the end of February to the beginning of March she attracted much attention and curiosity among the attending visitors. As can be guessed from the name: Foiler, possesses two retractable carbon foils so she lifts out of the water for a good half a metre and ‘ flies’ along at more than 40 knots with barely a ripple and in great comfort while burning 20% less fuel than a traditional hull would.” Lift off ” has been designed to kick in gradually in a progressive way at approximately 18 knots for passengers’ safety and comfort. When tied up both foils and drives are retracted and position themselves out of the water which translates into enhanced easy maintenance while allowing the almost ten metre Foiler to be safely stowed in superyachts’ garage slots. The on board hybrid diesel electric power house, is essentially made up of twin BMW 320 HP thermal units, two electric gen. sets and two torpedo shaped electric drives. Foiler can also cruise up to 10 knots for ten minutes solely on batteries. For further information: www. foiler. com - contact@ foiler. com
The new Pzero 1900 is to be the fleet’s flagship and is due to be launched soon. Meanwhile Pirelli is continuing to market the Pzero 1400 series which is available in two versions Cabin and Sport. Tecnorib has realized this yacht with input from Swedish design studio Ocke Mannerfelt Design. The yacht features an aggressive dynamic design and furthermore sports a hull with double redan configuration which translates into highly performing speeds. The latest version boasts as many as three Mercury Verado 400R engines which means the Pzero 1400 bolts along at more than 40 knots all out. However for those not privileging extreme speeds, the yard supplies also less powerful inboards or inboard-outboard engines. In each configuration the deck layout offers ample space in which to enjoy relaxing moments while sunbathing on ample sun pads in the bow area. Several large cushions furnish the stern, as well as comfortable settees in the cockpit sector, just forward of the well equipped (in terms of advanced technology) helm controls station create a welcoming spot under a wind piercing hardtop which also shelters from the sun. Enveloping yet comfortable bucket seats which are a must have at hi-speed complete the picture. The Cabin version has a more cruiser type configuration where we find a welcoming area forward of amidships with a galley equipped with electric cobs, a sink, fridge, settee, followed by a bathroom and a bow cabin for two, in addition to several lockers and wardrobes.
