9-11 AUGUST > MOJOCA STREET ART FESTIVAL. The old Cilento village is turnt into a lively and colorful open air theatre, where acrobats, jugglers, musicians and clowns meet. UNTIL 17 AUGUST > A' CHIENA. The town of Campagna, near Salerno, becomes the land of water and hosts the most refreshing event this summer. A’ Chiena means, literally, a flood. It is the flooding of the river Tenza, which is overflown by its embankments and reaches the streets by following an artificial path. Tourists and locals can cool off by spending their time with their feet in the water. It’s a unique occasion. Many events are planned, exhibitions, theatre shows and on the night between august 16 and 17 you can witness the midnight flood, or say, chiena. Every Sunday afternoon you can take part to the game of “secchiata”. A bathing suit, flip flops and a bucket are a must. You go out on the streets and throw each other water from your buckets. An archeologist will guide the kids and their parents through the discovery of the Egyptian civilization, exploring the pieces exhibited in the collection. At the end of the tour, kids will play Chutes and Ladders with images of the pieces they have seen during their visit in the Egyptian area and mysterious objects they must identify.
