IN CITTÀ WHEAT IN THE CITY

VOGUE Bambini - - ECO -

t’s not a joke: farmland has invaded downtown Milan amidst the new skyscrapers of Porta Nuova! Last february, armed with rubber boots and lots of curiosity, over 5,000 citizens (including many children) sowed a real wheat field. Milan has become like New York: Wheatfield was a spectacular example of ecological Land Art that Agnes Denes created at Battery Park City in 1982 to focus on several values that have been forgotten by modern society. Sharing food and energy, protecting the land and environment, and social and economic growth in respect of quality of life are at the heart of her work that is ‘nourishing’ Milan thanks to Fondazione Catella, Fondazione Nicola Trussardi and Confagricoltura, which invited the artist for the ‘MiColtivo. The Green Circle’ project for Expo 2015. While waiting for the harvest, which will be in july, you can enjoy a stroll amidst the ears of wheat. Don’t miss the activities for ‘mini farmers’! info@ fondazionericcardocatella.org
