2015 was a peak year for tourism, serv­ing as a pa­ram­e­ter for fu­ture statis­tic sur­veys. The last peak was in 2007, prior to the se­cond dra­matic garbage cri­sis which took us off the na­tional and in­ter­na­tional tourist map un­til 2011. 2015 marked a wa­ter­shed in tourism, a pow­er­ful in­crease which has lasted for a few years. First and fore­most, to Naples’s un­par­al­leled en­ergy but also to the good team work of our oper­a­tors. We were present at ev­ery tourism trade fair. We made in­tel­li­gent, in­no­va­tive choices in or­der to pro­mote the im­age of the city. In par­tic­u­lar, we fo­cused on the wide­spread use of so­cial me­dia and our ac­tions were re­warded. We made choices that re­flected the spirit of the city: Naples is not a cold city but rather a vi­brant desti­na­tion renowned for its sounds, its smells, its voices, its aro­mas and its beauty. The idea was to con­vey the fol­low­ing mes­sage to the world: “Come here and see for your­self who we are”. A proud, coura­geous choice that only some­one who is truly con­vinced of the beauty of the city can make. A choice that worked. Ev­ery­one who comes to Naples leaves
