How to enjoy your stay in Naples and on the Coast & Islands

Ajourney to discover the great secrets of the universe comfortably in a chair, just looking up at the sky and letting your imagination run free. All this in the shadow of Vesuvius.

In Naples, in Città della Scienza’s Science Center, on March 19th , the largest and most advanced 3d planetarium in Italy will open to the public. With a diameter of 20 meters and 120 seats, the Planetarium will project us into an enthralling and comprehensive experience, without boundaries.

The latest technologies allow us to fly between planets and stars, across galaxies, with a sensory involvement never experienced before.

The public will experience a unique and enveloping show of the universe, completely immersing itself into space. You can dive into a night sky, discover the stars from the theories of the ancient Greek astronomers to the large telescopes used today. You can learn how to protect the starry skies from light pollution, retrace the missions to the moon, follow the travels of probes and spacecrafts that have explored the solar system, or even explore the dark matter to understand why the universe is as it appears to us, understand where we come from, and how the universe has evolved over billions of years.

A journey through space as you've never experienced it, but how you have dreamt of it ever since you were a child. And thanks to the 3D Planetarium, you’ll go back to being a child, with your nose upward, lost in the infinite, dreaming about stars and planets. But the Planetarium will also offer fantastic 3D films, which will take you through the history of ancient populations or take you for a swim beneath the sea, to discover the wonders of nature, archeology and history. A unique experience. Not to be missed.

Open from 19 March

Mondays through Saturdays, 9am - 5pm; Sundays and holidays 10am-5pm.
