ROMA JAZZ FESTIVAL FROM FRIDAY 1 The first week of November brings the 43rd annual Roma Jazz Festival with this year’s theme of “No Borders,” since, as the festival states, “boundaries are made to be crossed.” The month-long celebration brings an eclectic variety of artists to the Eternal City such as Dave Holland, Cory Wong, Radiodervish, Dianne Reeves, and Moonlight Benjamin (pictured). The 21 performances are held across the city at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, the Casa del Jazz, the Monk, and the Alcazar. Find tickets and a full program at romajazzfest.it. FREE ENTRY TO NATIONAL MUSEUMS SUNDAY 3 The first Sunday of every month sees state-run museums all over the country open their doors for free. The National Roman Museum includes the Baths of Diocletian, Palazzo Altemps, Palazzo Massimo, and Crypta Balbi, and is just one of many sites that welcomes tourists gratis on this day. Others include the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and the National Gallery of Modern Art. Galleria Borghese also takes part, but you must book a time-slot online to ensure entry.
