Head to Oro Restaurant, a recipient of a Michelin star and a must-visit stopover for lovers of good food
Venice is famous throughout the world for its countless treasures... The Oro Restaurant is a recipient of a Michelin star, and a must-visit stopover for lovers of good food. And what food! By Stefania Vida
It all began with an important architectural project conceived by world-renowned interior architect Adam D. Tihany, whose meticulous attention to detail is apparent in the interior décor of the Oro Restaurant. With its Murano glass chandeliers, marvelous golden ceiling and outdoor terrace reminiscent of Venice's characteristic ‘campielli' (squares), Oro offers guests a quintessentially Venetian setting.
The true mastermind behind the restaurant is Executive Chef Davide Bisetto (in the photo), who won't fail to impress you with sophisticated dishes inspired by the gastronomic traditions of Venice, and his exquisite presentations. This is a unique experience that will delight your eyes and titillate your taste buds! His multi-award winning menu is based on the use of sustainable, seasonal produce and the finest local ingredients.
With starters like Red prawn and spider crab au natural, pink grapefruit aspic, citrus, Sant'Erasmus cucumber sorbet, and tomato water Bloody Mary (all served together), as well as main courses, including sea bass braised in Prosecco, served in a traditional stone dish, Chef Bisetto's cuisine captivates Venetians and tourists alike, for an unparalleled gourmet experience.
From this year, guests can enjoy the vegetable garden's flavours as they sit next to the vegetables planted in raised beds in the gardens of Belmond Hotel Cipriani.
These beds produce vegetables for Bisetto's new spring menu, and it's here that guests can chat to the chef as he gathers garden-fresh radishes or salad leaves. >>Oro Restaurant c/o Belmond Hotel Cipriani Giudecca, 10 - T: 041 240801 www.belmond.com
