Digicel scores with unlimited social media plans

Daily Observer (Jamaica) - - NEWS -

NEARLY a month after the unprecedented launch of its “Nuff Social Unlimited” social media plans for prepaid customers, Digicel is reporting overwhelmingly positive feedback to the trio of offers. The plans were developed based on public feedback that showed strong preference for prepaid plans with a heavy dose of data, especially for social media.

“Nuff Social was designed for multitaskers, social media enthusiasts, and those who love to share their big moments and keep up with the latest happenings on social media. We decided to put unlimited social media in the hands of our customers to use as they please, at prices that fit their budget and lifestyle. This is a big win for Digicel customers,” said Monique Mcleod, marketing director for Digicel.

Millennials, teens and social media enthusiasts are among the main groups of subscribers who have been gravitating towards the value-packed unlimited bundles that also offer users free Digicel-to-digicel minutes and a generous allotment of any-use high-speed data.

For $250, customers get unlimited Whatsapp messaging, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, plus 150 megabytes of any-use data for two days. For an even longer dose of unlimited access, Digicel customers can opt for the seven-day plan and get unlimited Whatsapp messaging, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat, plus 400 megabytes of any-use data and 75 Digicel-to-digicel minutes, all for only $750. The 28-day plan is designed for those who prefer an extended stay on social media and comes with unlimited Whatsapp messaging, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat, plus 1.8 gigabytes of any-use data and 300 Digicel-to-digicel minutes, all for only $3,000.

Customers who activate these plans via the My Digicel have been saving up to 20 per cet off these plans.

One of those customers is 19-year-old student Mariah Keating (@gappi_), who repeatedly activates the seven-day plan via the My Digicel app. Besides the savings, Keating says, “It works! Plain and simple, it works! I was a bit sceptical as to whether their (Digicel) ‘Unlimited’ really meant unlimited, so I tried the two-day plan first to be sure. I really hope unlimited social media is here to stay.”

Digicel said in a release that in support the growing popularity of its unlimited offer, more Digicel customers — especially in parts of western Jamaica — are now able to access superfast long-term evolution (LTE) technology in their hometown and browse at even faster speeds.

MCLEOD… Nuff Social was designed for multitaskers, social media enthusiasts and those who love to share their big moments and keep up with the latest happenings on social media
