Pardon Al Miller, the sacrificial lamb

Jamaica Gleaner - - OPINION & COMMENTARY -

THE EDITOR, Sir: A STRANGE paradox, shades of George William Gordon, while the Government is preparing an apology to the people of Tivoli Gardens. The courts have sentenced the Rev Al Miller to a fine of $1 million or 12 months in prison for bringing in Dudus, the cause of all the mayhem, without further bloodshed.

Al Miller is now the sacrificial lamb for others who should be wearing short pants. What if he had sought refuge in the US Embassy? We await the backlash to see who will lose their visa.

Rev Miller is the only person being punished for the Tivoli Gardens massacre. He should be honoured.

Minister Chuck, do not delay while preparing the apology to the people of Tivoli Gardens. Grant a pardon to the Rev Al Miller immediately. KEITH HOBBINS khobbins@cwjamaica.com
