Unconvinced by pro-Portia rhetoric
THE EDITOR, Sir: SOMEONE SENT me Annie Paul’s column on Portia Simpson Miller (‘Hard woman fe dead’, Gleaner, September 21, 2016) to read. It has not changed my mind that she has demonstrated that she is unable to lead the country out of its sad state.
It is all very well and good to be romantic about grass roots, etc, but unfortunately, they are the ones that really needed to have a leader who has vision in order for them to have been given a future and real hope – not most of the persons that are snarkily referred to as ‘upper St Andrew’. They are fine and will make it, whatever happens.
This is not about class or anyone’s right to remain and rule, however disastrous. I leave that principle to Mugabe!
