Credit Union League elects new president
THE REVEREND Dr Paul Gardner, JP, was elected recently as the new president of the Jamaica Cooperative Credit Union League (JCCUL). He succeeds Derrick Tulloch, who retired from office in August, having served as president from May 2013-August 2016.
Rev Gardner served as director on the board of JCCUL on three different occasions: 2002-2005, 2010-November 2013 and December 2013-2016. The new JCCUL president is a member of the board of Manchester Co-operative Credit Union, where he previously served as first vicepresident and president between 1999 and 2002.
Rev Gardner is affiliated to the Moravian Church, where he is the immediate past president of the Moravian Church Worldwide (the Unity) and the current president of the Moravian Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. He is also director of the Moravian Church Foundation and a member of the board of the Bethlehem Moravian College. He serves as an executive member of the World Council of Churches and vice-moderator of the finance committee and on the Teachers Service Commission.
At a special board of directors meeting held on Saturday, August 20, the following directors were elected to JCCUL’s executive:
