Jamaica Gleaner - - TECH SOLUTIONS LIMITED -

TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS Limited (TSL) began operating in June 1996, and over the past 20 years has built an enviable reputation throughout the region for its work in transforming organisations and companies. This ISO 17025 laboratory is a pioneer in food safety and quality systems, and has assisted companies in dealing with the practical realities of competing and exporting in a globalised business environment.

Led by Managing Director Dr André Gordon since its inception, TSL offers a comprehensive range of technical services to support the productive sector in Jamaica and the Caribbean. The company provides guidance with trade-related technical requirements and specialises in food safety, quality assurance and auditing, production systems design and implementation, and an extensive range of laboratory/analytical Former Prime Minister P.J. Patterson tours TSL at its opening in 1996.

services. It also provides plant and facility layout and design, new product development, profit improvement, trouble-shooting and technical consultancy services. These services ensure that Caribbean companies in the business of agriculture, agro-processing,

food service, hospitality, exporting, manufacturing or distribution can access world-class technical services that are focused on their specific needs and circumstances.

Governments, publicsector institutions and

regional and international organisations have also benefited from having their technology-based programmes developed and implemented by a company with an enviable track record of projects being delivered in a manner that ensures sustainability and global competitiveness for the beneficiaries. Analyst George Blake conducts can seaming in the TSL lab in 1996.

Since its inception, TSL has consistently delivered efficient and timely service to many companies within the export sector, significantly reducing the time it takes them to move from the production of goods to exporting them.

TSL has been the leading provider for world-class food-safety training, systems implementation and auditing services in the Caribbean, and has also worked with clients from the United States of America (US), Canada, the European Union (EU) and Western and Southern Africa.

The company has the distinction of being the initiator of GMP and HACCP to many industries in the region during the mid to

late 1990s, and much more so in the last 15 years. TSL is the only company in the region that has implemented food-safety systems that have been approved by the regulatory authorities in the US and EU, thereby facilitating exports to these markets.

The recent acquisition of a water activity meter has strengthened our capabilities, and continues TSL’s tradition of pioneering analyses in the region, as we are now the only laboratory in Jamaica and the Caribbean with the ability to determine the water activity of any product. TSL also has the ability to do a wide range of other tests on water and waste water, and also now does legionella testing.
