Not so fast

After being MIA on the music scene for a while, reggae artiste Etana has gained new-found popularity and for all the wrong reasons. The self proclaimed ‘Strong One’, in an interview with Anthony Miller for ER, has confessed that she is a supporter of US presidential hopeful Donald Trump. Of course, this has hit a sour note with, dare I say, every straight-thinking Jamaican who keeps up with the US presidential race. In her defence, Etana has said that the interview was edited and her points not justly aired. The way I see it, she made a boo boo and now she hopes to kiss it and make it all go away – it won’t. On another note, Anthony Miller just always seems to get these controversial stories, right?!

About that pic ...

Dancehall artiste D’Angel, has come out swinging at cyberattackers who were not amused by a picture she had posted of herself scantily clad and engaged in conversation with her son on set of a music video. Dancehall’s first lady says her son understands her job and that he is the offspring of two entertainers. I admit, we’ve all seen our mothers naked around the house, but something about the picture made me uncomfortable. I get that it’s her job, but what it entails in that specific moment (lots of sexual suggestions, lyrics, etc) was not age-appropriate for her son and he just doesn’t need to see mommy in that light.
