THE OPERATIONS Committee of the Premier League Clubs Association (PLCA) will be inspecting the playing fields of all 12 clubs in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) following the recent poor weather associated with hurricane Matthew.

The inspection is expected to take place before Friday to determine the level of readiness of the venues after the passage of the weather system.

Matches originally scheduled for last Sunday have been postponed and a new date is yet to be decided by the PLCA.

However, the league will resume this Sunday, October 9 with the original fixture involving six games.

“We normally have inspection of the fields, and this will be done by weekend with a team from the operations committee,” Franz Walker, PLCA league director informed The Gleaner yesterday.

‘NO STRONG WINDS’

“There were no strong winds usually associated with a hurricane, so the team will just look at fields to determine whether they are okay for games,” he also said.

The games scheduled for Sunday reads: Arnett Gardens FC hosting Portmore at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex; Tivoli Gardens welcoming Maverley-Hughenden to the Edward Seaga Complex; Humble Lion and Montego Bay United squaring off at Effortville Community Centre in May Pen; Boys’ Town vs Jamalco FC at Barbican Complex; Harbour View playing Waterhouse at Harbour View Stadium and Reno and UWI meeting at Frome.
