Fr Ho Lung nominated for human rights award
FATHER RICHARD Ho Lung has been nominated for the 2016 Nelson Mandela Human Rights Achievement Sunshine Award, which was founded 28 years ago to recognise excellence in the performing arts, education, humanity, science, and sports in the Caribbean.
The award will be presented on October 15 in New York.
On July 3, Fr Ho Lung received the Hakka Award in Toronto, which is given to persons who have made significant contributions to improving the 60 to 70 million Hakka people’s image, value, and understanding in the context of the world.
The Hakka people are Chinese who speak the Hakka language or share some Hakka ancestry.
