Fr Ho Lung nom­i­nated for hu­man rights award

FA­THER RICHARD Ho Lung has been nom­i­nated for the 2016 Nel­son Man­dela Hu­man Rights Achieve­ment Sun­shine Award, which was founded 28 years ago to recog­nise ex­cel­lence in the per­form­ing arts, ed­u­ca­tion, hu­man­ity, sci­ence, and sports in the Caribbean.

The award will be pre­sented on Oc­to­ber 15 in New York.

On July 3, Fr Ho Lung re­ceived the Hakka Award in Toronto, which is given to per­sons who have made sig­nif­i­cant con­tri­bu­tions to im­prov­ing the 60 to 70 mil­lion Hakka peo­ple’s im­age, value, and un­der­stand­ing in the con­text of the world.

The Hakka peo­ple are Chi­nese who speak the Hakka lan­guage or share some Hakka an­ces­try.
