MFA sends con­do­lence to fam­ily of Man­dev­ille sports­caster

The Manch­ester Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion (MFA) has sent for­mal con­do­lences to the fam­ily of long-stand­ing Man­dev­ille­based jour­nal­ist Paul By­field.

By­field, who pri­mar­ily worked as a cor­re­spon­dent for CVM TV, has been a fix­ture in the cov­er­age of do­mes­tic foot­ball in the par­ish for the last 15 years. He passed away last Fri­day af­ter bat­tling cancer.

Ac­cord­ing to the of­fi­cial mes­sage on the as­so­ci­a­tion’s Face­book page by its pres­i­dent, Dal­ton Wint, “The Manch­ester FA is grate­ful for the ster­ling in­ter­est By­field took in the cov­er­age of all its foot­ball com­pe­ti­tions and pro­grammes an­nu­ally.” It notes that By­field’s last as­sign­ment was his cov­er­age of the South Cen­tral Un­der-13 com­pe­ti­tion in Au­gust, which Manch­ester won.

A date for his fu­neral is be­ing fi­nalised.
