Congrats on this significant milestone

THE PLANNING Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) applauds the Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN) on the occasion of its 70th anniversary. Decision-making must be informed by accurate data, and in this regard, STATIN has gained an enviable reputation, nationally, regionally and internationally, for being one of the most reliable and credible public-sector institutions.

Policy-based analysis undertaken by the PIOJ is dependent on the output of STATIN, particularly its reports on the national income and product, trade, consumer prices, labour market performance as well as demographic trends. The data provided by STATIN is also essential for monitoring Jamaica’s progress towards the achievement of its national and international development goals and targets.

The PIOJ congratulates its sister agency, STATIN, on achieving this significant milestone and looks forward to our continued collaboration as we strive to make ‘Jamaica, the place of choice to live, work, raise families and do business’.
