KSAC announces En­ter­prise As­sis­tance Pro­gramme

THE KINGSTON and St An­drew Cor­po­ra­tion is to im­ple­ment its Kingston En­ter­prise As­sis­tance Pro­gramme (KEAP) as it seeks to fa­cil­i­tate and pro­vide a sup­port­ing en­vi­ron­ment to mi­cro, small, and medium en­ter­prises. KEAP will be launched on Novem­ber 9. En­ter­ing its sec­ond round, KEAP aims to give sup­port to women and youth in Kingston and St An­drew through the pro­vi­sion of $2 mil­lion in grants rang­ing from $50,000 to $130,000.

In ad­di­tion to the grants, awardees will re­ceive men­tor­ship from suc­cess­ful busi­ness lead­ers and ex­perts for up to six months after be­ing awarded, as well as train­ing from rep­utable in­dus­try play­ers.

All start-up ap­pli­cants will un­dergo an en­tre­pre­neur­ial boot camp prior to ap­ply­ing to the pro­gramme, after which ap­pli­ca­tions will be as­sessed and awardees iden­ti­fied.

The Caribbean Lo­cal Eco­nomic Devel­op­ment Project (CARILED) has agreed to part­ner with the coun­cil to im­ple­ment this.

Other part­ner­ships in­clude the SDC, the JBDC, the Young En­trepreneurs’ As­so­ci­a­tion of Ja­maica, the Small Busi­ness As­so­ci­a­tion of Ja­maica, among oth­ers.
