USA U-17s face Ar­nett U-20s in friendly clash

THE UNITED States of Amer­ica (USA) Un­der-17 team will con­tinue its friendly se­ries of games when they face an Ar­nett Gar­dens FC Un­der-20 ag­gre­ga­tion to­day at Ja­maica Col­lege play­ing field. Match time is 3 p.m.

USA de­feated Ja­maica Un­der-17 team 3-0 on Wed­nes­day at Sta­dium East in the first of two games be­tween the teams.

Now, the USA, who, like Ja­maica, are pre­par­ing for the CONCACAF stage of the FIFA Un­der-17 World Cup Qual­i­fi­ca­tion will en­gage lo­cal club team Ar­nett Gar­dens.

Coach of Ar­nett Gar­dens Jerome ‘Jerry’ Waite says he is look­ing for­ward to the game.

“It will be a good ex­pe­ri­ence for our play­ers. It’s a first time a lo­cal club team will be play­ing against a USA national youth team. We will be tak­ing the game se­ri­ously,” Waite told The Gleaner yes­ter­day.

said he is ex­pect­ing play­ers such as former Ja­maica Col­lege win­ning Man­ning Cup cap­tain Or­lando Brown, Ja­mar Pur­cell, Di­mani Dea­con, Kim­mar­ley Ar­bouine and Shamar­ley Clay­ton to be in­cluded.

The USA squad reads Car­los Joaquim Dos San­tos, Justin Garces, Ethan Bart­low, Christopher Gloster, Jaylin Lind­sey, Rayshaun McGann, Carlo Ti­tac­cio, James Sands, Ar­turo Vasquez, Chadler Vaughn, Ge­orge Acosta, Isaac Angk­ing, Christopher Durkin, Blaine Ferri, Christopher Goslin, Adrian Vil­le­gas, Ay­o­mide Aki­nola, An­drew Car­leton, Zyen Jones, Bryan Reynolds Jnr., Joshua Sargent and Tonny Tem­ple.
