Proud of this patriotic philanthropist

Jamaica Gleaner - - HALL OF FAME -

AS ONE of Jamaica’s most successful entrepreneurs, Gary ‘Butch’ Hendrickson has spent his career giving back to his country through philanthropic endeavours in areas critical to Jamaica’s social and economic development.

A tireless advocate for small businesses, his interventions have benefited scores of fledgling entrepreneurs. One of the more well-known projects is ‘The Bold Ones of Manufacturing’ through which visionary Jamaican small business owners are identified and supported in their marketing efforts.

He is also a passionate champion for early childhood education. The National Baking Company is a major sponsor of the Crayons Count programme, donating both cash and manpower to facilitate distribution of learning kits to schools across Jamaica. The National Baking Company Foundation is also one of the founding members of the Union Gardens Foundation, a coalition of private and public sector organisations that built the Union Gardens Infant School in 2015. The state-of-the-art institution is located in South West St Andrew and has 100 students on roll. Gary ‘Butch’ Hendrickson is a patriot, a philanthropist, and someone whom I am very proud to call my friend. May God continue to bless him as he seeks to serve his purpose.
