DAVID ‘GREEN’ Reid could not miss the op­por­tu­nity to see his coun­cil­lor-can­di­date for Mandeville, Manch­ester, be nom­i­nated yes­ter­day as it is a tra­di­tion he has en­joyed dur­ing lo­cal govern­ment elec­tion pe­ri­ods over many years.

It is also tra­di­tion for him to get fully dressed in green as a show of sup­port for his beloved Ja­maica Labour Party (JLP).

“Me a Labourite from 1972, and me al­ways ina me green. Me a vote from me was 22 years old, and now me is 66. Me a vote be­fore An­drew Hol­ness born, and me nuh play when it come on to me party.”

Reid said he has to rep­re­sent at all times and let his loy­alty to his party be known.

“Me have 40 green shirt, two dozen green un­der­wear, three dozen green socks. Me can’t run out,” he laughed.
