Mt St Joseph, Be­lair lead Howie Chin leagues

Three teams are locked on 13 points as the 2016 edi­tion of the Manch­ester FA-Howie Chin Prep School League nears its semi-fi­nal round. They are Mt St Joseph’s, El In­sti­tuto, and Knox. How­ever, Mt St Joseph have the clear ad­van­tage hav­ing played one game less.

The high­light of the week was Chara­gape Prep’s 6-0 de­mo­li­tion of Hill­crest with Alex Forbes slam­ming in five goals. In other matches, Mt St Joseph had a 1-0 win over Sa­cred Heart and sim­i­larly El In­sti­tuto over Knox, how­ever, got some redemp­tion later by shut­ting out Em­manuel 3-0.

Be­lair con­tinue to lead the charge in the girls’ divi­sion de­spite be­ing idle in the last round of matches. They have nine points from three games. Mt St Joseph are on seven points but have played two more games.

In the last round, Da­nia Lee Wint’s two goals gave Mt St Joseph a 2-1 win over Em­manuel Prepara­tory School but they then lost 1-0 to Knox for whom Jianna Tom­lin­son scored.
