Bridgeport advance in primary football
Bridgeport advanced to the semifinals of the INSPORTS Portmore Primary Football League after they defeated Belmont Park 2-1 in Zone One action last Thursday. Bridgeport ended the preliminary round with 10 points. In other games, Independence Primary moved to six points from four games as they beat Ascot Primary 2-1 as Jaheem Johnson scored two goals. Defending champions Waterford Primary are near qualification with eight points as they outscored Port Henderson 3-2.
In Zone Two, the qualifiers are Portsmouth (nine points), and Naggo Head (six points). Portsmouth the pretournament favourites get a test from Greater Portmore but won 3-2 with Tyrique Beckford scoring a double and Theon Copie added the other goal.
