Junior Achievement Jamaica – empowering the future

Jamaica Gleaner - - MESSAGE -

EMPOWERING YOUNG people to own their economic success is the vision on which Junior Achievement (JA) Jamaica was founded seven years ago.

Today, the vision has not changed but has become clearer as Jamaica’s development is dependent on the expertise of our young people. With this, JA Jamaica is dedicated more than ever to giving young people the knowledge and skills needed to own their economic success, plan for their futures and contribute to the strength of their families, communities and economies.

Being a non-profit organisation, JA Jamaica’s impact is largely credited to supportive partnerships with local and international organisations and individuals. These collaborations have allowed for us to efficiently execute the organisation’s vision and staying true to our long-term commitment.

Through the delivery of our cuttingedge programmes in entrepreneurship, financial literacy and workforce readiness, JA Jamaica has broadened the canvas of possibilities for young people and enriched their abilities to make the best of opportunities presented to them. The programmes taught are age-appropriate, engaging primary, secondary, tertiary and out-of-school youth between the ages of five to 24 years. Our programmes are delivered by volunteers and teachers committed to the organisation’s vision. With this commitment and dedication, our programmes have reached over 60,000 youth across the island.
