A moment of grace
It is indeed a moment of grace for those who have the privilege to celebrate an anniversary that numbers 150 years. Thus, I take this opportunity to commend and congratulate the St Joseph Catholic Church faith community as you execute plans associated with your 150 years of existence and service on behalf of the Catholic Church, which advances the presence of the Kingdom of God. The existence and apostolate of St Joseph Church, over these years, have been made effective and impactful through the pastoral guidance and collaboration of the many priests, deacons, religious sisters, and lay faithful who been dedicated and faithful servants through the years. And, it is with a renewed sense of commitment to build on the legacy established to this present moment that those of us celebrating the current anniversary must endeavour to accomplish with a sense of obligation.
Contributing to this legacy will require reflection on the past and the present as we look to the future. May each of us do so, grounded in the word of God, while relying on the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit, so that our intentional commitment to participate in the Apostolate of the St Joseph Catholic Church will attain the salvation of souls and give glory to the Lord our God!
Therefore, I commend Fr Richard Brown, the Church Council, the Planning committee, and all the Faithful for making this 150th anniversary a momentous occasion, whereby appreciation for the legacy received can be an enlightened and renewed commitment to advance to a greater future! AD MAJOREM DEI GLORIAM! Most Rev Kenneth D. Richards, DD Archbishop of Kingston
