We are proud of our achievements

Jamaica Gleaner - - 40TH ANNIVERSARY -

THE HERBERT Morrison Technical High School family beams with pride in celebrating 40 years of providing quality secondary education to the nation’s children, particularly those in western Jamaica.

Our four decades of success speaks volumes in sports, culture, academics, technical and vocational education, music and student leadership.

The first principal, Mr J. Lloyd Whinstanley, a most insightful educator, concretised the foundation in the

schools motto ‘Strength and Perseverance’ on which we promote a culture of excellence. Hence our theme for the celebration, ‘Celebrating our Strength and Perseverance in Promoting a Culture of Excellence’.

Herbert Morrison Technical High School, through its curriculum offerings, is the ‘Home of science technology and technical vocational Education’. We are undeniably the leading technical high school in Jamaica with performance which puts us among the topperforming secondary schools in Jamaica.

As we celebrate, we are aware of our recognition and achievements, but will also appreciate that continuity and growth are important for sustained success. We face the next decade aware of our mission and mandate to give each child an excellent chance at accessing quality education.

May God continue to give us the strength and perseverance as we continue to promote a culture of excellence. PAUL ADAMS Principal
